What better way to kick off 2015 than at the Margaret Howell AW15 show for London Collections: Men. Here at Claude we’re often fawning over the loudest and brightest, the most avant-garde of fashions. And while we still adore all the old favourites like KTZ and Nasir, we’re also paying close attention to those designers who are bringing wonderfully chic and clean palettes to the dressing room.
Enter Margaret Howell. Well, in the 70s anyway. For decades she’s been at the fore of creating garments that are a reflection of the natural environment, but that create a sense of ease. In 2014 she brought us heavy cottons, simple collarless shirts and essential, yet basic, workwear that should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobes. For LCM this year, the designer created a wonderfully toned palette: greys and tweed greens, along with a splash of colour and a little hint of that 70s resurgence, but in a good way. While she does have a separate women’s collection, there are definitely some pieces in here for the ladies too.
